Mr. Bobby Lee Knight, 69 of 3764 Murphy Road, Eastover, died on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Bethany Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Jeff Burkhardt, Pastor Mark Knight and Pastor Don Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Knight was born on October 29, 1942 in Cumberland County to the late Johnnie Wilbur and Kathleen Strickland Knight. He worked for A&P Food Stores for 18 years and he owned and operated Exxon Convenient stores and Garthie Carrols Grocery Store. He served on several boards with Cumberland County and was a Special Deputy with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office. He was also a member of Bethany Church of God of Prophecy for 36 years.
He is survived by: his wife of 51 years, Donna Knight of the home; three children, Elizabeth Dale Parker and husband, Charlie of Eastover, John Michael Knight and wife, Tammy of Eastover and Martha Suzanne Eason of Eastover; his brothers and sisters, Jerry Knight, Donnie Knight, Betty Winstead, Randy Knight, Linda Flowers, Eddie Knight, Ronald Knight and Carol Knight; eight grandchildren, Crystal Downing, Stephanie Vann, Ashley Parker, Raven Knight, Daniel Eason, Josh Knight, Jack Parker and Alexis Knight; and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman and other times at the home.
