Elmer E. Anderson, 98, passed away Sunday, December 12, 1999 at the Valparaiso Care and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Chicago on May 25, 1901, the son of Nels and Amanda (Johnson) Anderson. He was an area resident since
1903, living most of his life in Portage Township. Survived by his daughters: Ardyce Baker of Valparaiso and Hazel Nagy of Portage; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Bliss Spencer Buhman Anderson of 45 years and second wife, Adah Mae Bolles Nelson Anderson of 13 years, his sister, Edith Keammerer and brothers, Walter and Lawrence Anderson. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and was retired from Youngstown Sheet & Tin Mill.

Visitation on Thursday, December 16, 1999, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (time of services), at Hope Lutheran Church, 6322 Portage Avenue, Portage, Indiana, with Pastor Flohr officiating. Interment, McCool Cemetery, Portage.
