Fort Bend Herald, January 7, 2014:

Beatrice Laverne Shed, 91, of Guy, Texas was born January 21, 1922 in Oakalla, Texas to Samuel Adam and Millie Elizabeth (Whiteley) Bell. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Beatrice started out as a homemaker who also took on several babysitting jobs and ironing for money. She then went to work as a cook at the Viking Den in Stafford for about 13 years. Beatrice enjoyed gardening, playing cards, bingo, casinos and most of all, family time. She was "Granny" to everyone and was sometimes known as "The Other Granny", "Big Granny" and "Granny Shed. Most of her friends called her "Bea". Beatrice passed away at her home in Guy on January 4, 2014.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Shed; son, Hubert Shed; sons-in-law, Roy Engelhardt, Jerry Bonham, and Dave Koehler ; and grandson, Curtis Shed, Jr.

Beatrice is survived by her daughters, Dee Koehler, of Guy, and Geraldine Engelhardt, of East Bernard,; sons, Curtis Shed and wife, Kay, of Lane City, David and Eugene Shed, of Guy and Jimmy Shed, of Rosenberg; and daughter-in-law, Viola Shed, of Needville; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, other family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
