Rose C. Konarski, age 60 of Luther, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in Grand Rapids. She was born August 21, 1953 in Taylor, adopted by Anthony and Rose Konarski, and was a 1971 graduate of Taylor High School. Rose moved to the Luther area in 1980 where she was caretaker to her sister Josephine until her passing. She was employed with the Lake-Osceola State Bank in Luther for 30 years and took great pleasure in serving her friends and neighbors at the bank. Ever active in her community, she served as Ellsworth Twp. Clerk, a longtime member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Treasurer of the Luther Lions Club, and a frequent volunteer at the Luther Area Museum. She was a generous and giving person who enjoyed casinos and eating Chinese food with Betty Purchase. She was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Rose Konarski, and sister Josephine Konarski. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday, January 10, 2014 at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Luther with Rev. Fr. Ronald Schneider officiating. Burial will be at North Park Cemetery in Luther. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the St. Ignatius Catholic Church, the Luther Lions Club, or the Luther Area Museum. Visitation with friends will be from 10:00 am Friday at the church until time of services.
