She was the widow of the late James G. Burness, who operated the old Burness Auto and Carriage Works. She had lived in Portland 79 years. She was born March 29, 1872, in Wahoo, Neb.
Surviving are a daughter and three sons: Mrs. Elva B. Cleveland, Portland; James of Centralia, Wash.; Edward A. of Portland, and Robert of Phoenix, Ariz.
She was the sister of Ernest R. Allmen, Mrs. Edward Sandberg and Mrs. Arnold Kuhnhausen, all of Portland. There are eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. David's Episcopal church where services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. under direction of Holman and Son. Interment, will be in Riverview cemetery.
