MEDON - Richard F. Melton, 76, retired plastic manufacturing foreman, died Thursday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Casey Funeral Home in Henderson with burial in Maple Springs Cemetery near Mercer, Tennessee.
Mr Melton was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church. He was the husband of Doris J. Ellison Melton (who survives). Mr Melton was the son of David Luther Melton and Lillie Cazelle Thomas Melton.
He also leaves a daughter, Anita Craig of Millington; three sons, Richard Melton of Spring Creek, David Gittermann of Gibson and Mike Melton of Oakfield; a sister, Hazel Galigher of Medon; three brothers, L. E. 'Chuck' Melton of Henderson, D. C. Melton of Selmer and James Melton of Jackson; a stepbrother, O. D. Dodd of Bolivar, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
