Son of William Cornett and Sarah Jane Reid.
Robert Alexander Cornett and Margaret Ann McMullan were married July 5, 1882 at Lansdowne Twp., Leeds County, Ontario.
Robert remarried to Eleanor Mary Hammond at Calgary in 1913.

Shepard Pioneer, R. A. Cornett, Dies
Well known old timer of the Shepard district before retiring two years ago, Robert Alexander Cornett, 76 years of age, died in a local hospital Saturday morning following a brief illness. He had resided at 639 Second avenue northwest.
The late Mr. Cornett had farmed in the Shepard district from 1908 to 1934, and came to Calgary upon retirement. Before taking up farming he built the general store and post office at Standard.
Born in Lansdowne, Ont., he is survived by his wife, and two sons, Milton, Vancouver; and Cecil, of Calgary; two daughters, Mrs. Arnold Wark, Seattle; and Mrs. R. Steele, New Westminster, B.C.; a brother, Rev. W. Cornett, of Santa Monica, Calif.; and two sisters, Miss R. Cornett, Kingston, Ont., and Mrs. L. Watt, Santa Monica, Calif.
