Eugene Turrell Pixton, 49, long-time Idaho farmer and potato broker, died at his home Sunday following a lingering illness.
Mr. Pixton, son of W.T. and Matilda Pixton, was born April 1, 1907, at Taylorville, Utah. He was married to Leila M. Jorgenson, Firth, on July 5, 1926, at Rexburg. On June 25, 1935, their marriage was solemnized at the LDS Temple in
Salt Lake.
Mr. Pixton farmed near Kimball, Idaho until 1945 when he joined in the potato warehouse business with W.P. Wilson at Firth. Illness forced his retirement about a year ago.
Besides his wife, Mr. Pixton is survived by four children, Ferris T., Mrs. Bill (Joan) Mecham, Sharon and Shirley Pixton, all of Firth; two grandchildren; his mother; brothers Wayne W. and Burdette N. Pixton of Blackfoot and Kenneth H. Pixton of Warden, Wash.; and sisters Mrs. Ray (Bernice) Jensen of Fairfield, Mont., Mrs. Herman (Amelia) Eichmeir of Idaho Falls, and Mrs. Homer (Jean) Dyer,
Seattle.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the First LDS Church in Firth with Bishop Alton Croft officiating. Interment will be in the Firth Cemetery. The body is at the Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
