KRESGEVILLE WIDOW MOURNED

The many friends and acquaintances of Joyce H. Smith and Luther H. Smith offered condolences to them in their sorrow over the passing of their mother, Mrs. E. Helen Smith.

Mrs. Smith succumbed on Wednesday, January 18th, at the age of 82, in the Home for the Aged at Weatherly, where she had been a guest during her illness.

Helen was born in the Big Creek area and was a lifelong resident of the region, residing in Kresgeville in her latter years.

She was a daughter of the late Henry and Catherine (nee Henning) Hittner and the widow of Rufus E. Smith.
Her survivors include her daughter, Joyce, who owns and operates the local Unique Dry Cleaners; son Luther, who is manager of the Palmerton Savings and Loan Association; and five grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, in the Jerusalem Union Church Trachsville, of which Mrs. Smith was a member of its United Church of Christ congregation.

Interment was in the Trachsville Cemetery.

Arrangements were in charge of the T. K. Thomas Funeral Home, 145 Delaware Avenue, in Palmerton.
