Miss Hope Terrell, 98, of Greenville died Saturday, May 10, 2003 at Alvista Care Home in Greenville.

Miss Terrell was born Nov. 8, 1904 in Greenville, daughter of the late Judge James Render Terrell and the late Mamie Harrison Terrell. A lifelong resident of Greenville, she was a graduate of Brenau College in Gainesville. Miss Terrell was a longtime music teacher and church musician in Greenville.

She was a niece of the late Joseph Meriwether Terrell, a former Georgia Governor and U. S. Senator from Georgia. She was preceded in death by sisters, Mrs. Mamie Terrell Bellah and Mrs. Paula Terrell Stanley, and brothers, Joel Hood Terrell and James Render Terrell, both former members of the Georgia legislature.

A funeral will be held today, May 13, 2003, at 3 p.m. at Greenville Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Porter officiating. Interment will follow at Greenville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church today from 2-3 p.m.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Jessie Terrell Doughtie of Columbus, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenville Baptist Church, P. O. Box 458, Greenville, GA 30222.
