This community was both shocked and saddened upon learning of the death of Mrs. Albert Kostic, 55, Friday morning at St. Luke's hospital in Denver Thursday. Her husband and son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Tipton were at her bedside when death came. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Leslie Davison and two brothers, Earl and Roy Caskey and their families, all of Big Springs went to Denver for the funeral rites and interment, which were held in Denver Monday afternoon. Among the friends and neighbors who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Coyle McGreer, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Kenfield, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rees, Mr. and Mrs. Dan McClung, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Whitney also Mrs. Kostic's nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Caskey of Big Springs and her niece Mrs. Orville Dudden and Mr. Dudden of Venango." (Duel County Herald, Big Springs, Neb; Aug. 12, 1948 pg 1)
