Charles Samuel "Sam" Baldwin Jr., 66, of Bull Pine Road, Afton, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at his residence. Born on January 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Charles Samuel Baldwin Sr. and Geraldine (Kirt) Baldwin.

He was a member of Wintergreen Christian Church and had been a self-employed building contractor for many years. He was a life member of the Rockfish Valley Volunteer Fire Department. In his "spare" time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, survivors include his children, Charles Sidney Baldwin and wife, Wendy, and Eliza Forbes and husband, Donald; his two grandsons, Charles Raylan Baldwin and Alexander Delvin Forbes; a sister, Kay Bryant and husband, Steven; a sister-in-law, Beth Spitler and husband, Raymond; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial celebration will be held at the Rockfish Valley Fire Department on August 17, 2013, at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the fire department, HOPE in Fishersville, or a charity of your choice.
