He was born January 1, 1903 in Coltman, Idaho, a son of David R. and Ada Grace McEntire Taylor. He married Vera Laird, June 20, 1928 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She passed away December 9, 1961. He married LaRue Cox, May 17, 1963 in the Logan LDS Temple. She passed away September 20, 1988. He was active in the LDS Church. He was an avid hiker, generous to his neighbors, and enjoyed sharing a booklet he compiled titled, "Thoughts To Live By". He was a very gentle man. He owned and operated a grocery store in Ucon, Idaho and Kaysville. He retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1967.
He is survived by one stepson, Boyd (Connie) Cox, Kaysville, UT; two daughters, Shirley (Bud) Larkin, Darby, MT; Karen (Roger) Sandall, Preston, ID. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jay D. (Laura) Taylor, Idaho Falls, ID. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, one sister, one half-sister, his parents and both wives.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 1997 at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Friends and family will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9:45 to 10:45 Saturday at the mortuary. Interment in the Kaysville City Cemetery
