She was born to the union of Lucien Bluford Sr and Plummie Anderson.
She was married to the late Iam Leopold and was the mother of three children, one of whom, Thealous Johney Leopold-Ware preceded her in death.
In 1970, she moved to Milwaukee and established permanent residence. She became a member of Saint Luke Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She is survived by two children, Plummie Ware and Harvis Leopold-Harris; daughter-in-law, Louise; three sisters, Selena Bluford, Mattie Bluford Leopold, and Lillie Bluford Wallace; three sisters-in-law, Gertude Bluford, Ann Bluford, and Sarah Bluford; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
