Maryann Kraetke, age 74, of Butternut, died on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at her home. She was born on December 7, 1940 in New York City, the daughter of Joseph and Hattie (Wirscheim) Mullally. Maryann graduated from Mallinckrodt High School in Wilmette, Illinois. On June 22, 1963 she married Claus A. Kraetke in Morton Grove, Illinois. The family moved to Butternut in l977 where they became the owners and operators of the Midway Bar until retiring in l996. Maryann was very active at her church, enjoyed her daily walks, driving her classic Pontiac Trans Am, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons: Claus H. (Judy) Kraetke of Butternut, and Patrick S. (Sarah) Kraetke of Shell Lake; five grandchildren: Joseph, Jacob, Mitchell, Kristen, and Nicholas; two brothers: Joseph (Carol) Mullally of Hayward, and Kevin Mullally of Rice Lake; four nieces; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Claus in 2001.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Butternut. Fr. Ron Levra and Deacon Bob Schienebeck co-officiated.
Burial was at St. Cecelia Catholic Cemetery in Butternut.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Flambeau Home Health and Hospice would be appreciated.
