Funeral services for Michael B. Demuth, 79, were conducted Monday morning,Feb. 19 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Concelebrating the Requiem Mass were the Rev. James A. Demuth, Msgr. A. J. Lisko, and Rev. Richard Sladky. Mr. Demuth died Thursday, Feb. 15, at the David City Hospital following a week's illness.
Members of the Knights of Columbus attended the services in a body. Pallbearers were Richard Demuth, Wilfred Homan, Joseph P. Nicolas, Richard Meysenburg A. J. Meysenburg, and Joseph F. Meysenburg, all nephews.
Relatives coming from a distance to attend the services were from Dodge City, Kans., St Louis, Mo., Westside and Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Ravenna, Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island, Kearney, Columbus, Shelby, Rising City, Bellwood, Ulysses and Surprise.

Michael B. Demuth, the son of Jacob Demuth and Elizabeth Schmit, was born June 11, 1888, on his father's homestead north of David City, where he farmed until 1932 when he moved to David City.
On Nov. 25, 1932, he was married in Gothenburg to Alberta Vermeulen Wink who preceded him in death in 1955.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Tihen Council, Knights of Columbus.
Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors are a sister, Mrs. J. C. (Mary) Nicolas of Columbus, a brother, N. S. Demuth of David City, and many nieces and nephews.
