Bessie Edith Burk, 93, died March 16, 1994 in Cape Girardeau. She was born February 12, 1901, daughter of Ruben and Parley (Myers) Abernathy.
She and Willard V. Burk were married December 25, 1917 at Bollinger Co., MO. He died September 13, 1965.
She was a member of Lutesville United Pentecostal Church.
Surviving her is one son, Joe Burk of Sikeston, MO; four daughters, Corinne Buescher of Bethalto, IL; Doris Reitzel of Jackson, MO; Wilma Schreiner of Cape Girardeau, MO; and Virginia Smith of Moro, IL; two brothers, Marion Abernathy of Puxico, MO; and Roy Abernathy of Wood River, IL; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband; one son, Fred; two brothers; one sister; and one grandson preceded her in death.
Services were Saturday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Burial was in Bollinger County Memorial Park.
