Mrs. Lydia LaRue, age 87, a resident of the Care Center of Abingdon and formerly of the Avon Nursing Home, died at 6:05 pm Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the Care Center.

She was born on November 28, 1925, the daughter of Henry David and Dora (Dietz) Blocker. She married Chester LaRue. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1998.

She is survived by one sister, June Loney of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and one brother, Albert Blocker of Galesburg.

Cremation will be accorded. Private family services will be held at a later date. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
