Richard Wallace Peters, 79, died Saturday March 13, 2004 at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Waycross, Georgia and lived most of his life in Savannah. He attended Emory and UGA and then enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as Pharmacist Mate; he retired from Electric Sales and Service as a sales representative. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #184, Solomon Lodge #1 F&AM, Alee Shrine Temple (Oriental Band), Chatham Artillery, German Friendly Society, Elk Lodge in Birmingham, AL as the Chaplin. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Wallace Peters, Jr.; and parents, Dr. Chipmon Peters and Mrs. Erma Peters. Survived by wife of 56 years, Cleone Fetzer Peters, of Savannah; one son Jeffery C. Peters of Brunswick; two daughters, Vickie P. Fordham of Savannah and Ivy P. Mallot of St. Cloud, FL; one sister-in-law, Mary Peters, of Decatur, GA; four grandchildren, Adam and Pau l Fordham, Stacie Pockat, and Suzette Peters; two great- grandchildren, Courtney Pockat and Andrew Fordham; nephew, James Peters.
