Alfonso was the son of Antonio Canzoneri and Elisabetta Mazza. He married Carmela Chiapparo in 1881. They came to America, aboard the Sant Anna, thru Ellis Island, in 1911.
They had six children:
Giovanni "John"
Elisabetta (married Vito Carusello)
Giuseppe "Joe"
Josephina (married Angelo Leto)
Antonia "Nina" (married Joe Falzone)
Antonio "Anthony"
Alfonso and his daughter Elisabetta are buried together. She died just before him, or on the same day, as she is not listed on his obituary as a surviving child.
