Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Monday, November 4, 1958, page 2:
Miss Florence Elizabeth Barraclough, 84, formerly of 1306 North Main street, Edwardsville, died at 2:55 p.m. Saturday at the Montreat nursing home in Hardin, where she had resided since August of last year. Death followed a severe heart spell suffered several weeks ago.
The deceased was born April 6, 1873 in Marine, the daughter of the late George and Martha Oettle Barraclough. In November 1878 she came with her parents to Edwardsville to reside at the Main street address. Following her mother's death in 1907 and her father's in 1914, Miss Barraclough continued to reside in the family home until 1952, when, due to ill health, she took up residence with her niece, Mrs. Gladys Barraclough Bartholomew, at 515 Elsie street.
In 1954 Miss Barraclough sold her property on Main street to the Edwardsville public schools and it is now a part of the Lincoln school playground. She had attended the Presbyterian church in her youth and in early adulthood when it was located where the old Turner hall now stands on North Second street.
Survivors in addition to the niece in Edwardsville are five other nieces, Mrs. M. Bates Young of Donnellson, Mrs. J.W. Myers, Harrisburg, Mrs. L.A. Triggs, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. R.C. Shaub, Clinton, Mass., and Mrs. A.I. Means, Oak Park and two nephews, A.H. Norrish, Little Rock, Ark., and Edwin Estes, St. Louis.  Also surviving are four cousins, Fred and John Oettle and Mrs. Mollie Hayn of Kampsville and George Oettle of Meredocia, Ill.  She was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at the Weber funeral home until 2 p.m. Tuesday when services will be held. The Rev. Robert W. Shaub, a great-nephew, and pastor of St. Paul Presbyterian church, Mattapan, Mass., will officiate.
Burial will be in Valley View cemetery.

Pallbearers were Edwin Estes of St. Louis; John Manns of Bethalto; Keith and Kenneth Oettle, both of Alton; and William Welch and McIvin Hubach of Edwardsville.
