Weippe -- Lubin L. Nygaard, 75, died about 5 p.m. Friday after falling from a porch at the home of his son- in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Heywood, five miles east of Weippe.

Nygaard had driven truck and school bus at Orofino for most of his life.

He was born Feb. 23, 1900, at Underwood, Minn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lars Nygaard. He came to Orofino when he was 19.

He worked for the White Pine Lumber Co. at Orofino for more than 50 years. When the mill closed in 1960 he drove school bus for several years before glaucoma forced him to retire. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.

He married Edna Brown Nov. 14, 1921, at Lewiston. She survives at the family home at Orofino.

Other survivors include a son, Pete J. Nygaard of Orofino; two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Heywood of Weippe and Mrs. Betty Hart of Gunnison, Colo.; three brothers, four sisters, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gilbert Funeral Chapel at Orofino. The Rev. Wendell Stakkestad of Ascencion Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be at Weseman Cemetery.
