Ruth (Parkander) Clokey Goodell was the daughter of Rev. Joseph A. and Hazel S. (Hamborg) Parkander. She was the 1st wife of Art Clokey. They were married in 1948 and divorced in 1966. Ruth and Art taught at a local Southern California private school. In 1954 Ruth and Art created "Gumby" which made its debut on the Howdy Doody Show. It was during this time that Art was attending film school at night at USC studying under Slavko Vorkapich. In 1960 Ruth and Art created Davey and Goliath. Art died January 8, 2010.
