Hazel J. Day, 103, Wichita, formerly of
Concordia, died March 22, 2004. Mrs.
Day was born Hazel J. Avery on Aug. 20,
1900, in Concordia. She was a cashier at
the Nifty Cafe and worked for Kansas Power
and Light.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd W, in 1959; a granddaughter; and
a great-grandson.
Survivors include three sons, Donald of
Wichita, James of Green Valley, Ariz., and
Floyd of Jamestown, N.D.; a daughter,
Dorothy Alaimo of Green Valley; 12 grand-
children; 21 great-grandchildren; and six
great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m.
Saturday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel,
325 W. Sixth, Concordia 66901. Burial
will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.
Memorials may be made to First United
Methodist Church or Concordia Senior
Citizens Center. Friends may sign the
register book from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday and 8 a.m. until service time
Saturday at the funeral home. There will be
no viewing.
