Marie Osborne Poland, a resident of Warsaw and formerly of Florence, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Gallatin Health Care at the age of 78.

She was born in Glencoe, KY on Jan. 4, 1927 the daughter of the late Carl and Nina Smith Osborne. She worked at the W. T. Grant Department Store, Sears and helped farm and was a member of the Warsaw Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband Arthur whom she married on May 12, 1943. Also surviving are one son, Edward D. Poland of Florence, two daughters, Judith Poland McGuire of Walton, KY and Janet Poland Osterbrook of Independence, KY. Seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Malissa Woodward and Christine DeNuccio and four brothers, L. J., Buford, Woodrow and George "Bugs" Osborne.

Funeral services will be held at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 26, 2005. Visitation will be from 4 to 8PM on Friday March 25. Burial will be in Glencoe Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Warsaw Christian Church.
