Funeral Services for George Henry "Bud" Mitchell, age 90 of Sulphur Springs will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Spence Chapel at First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs with Rev. Fred Lewis and Rev. Tommy Johnston officiating. Military Grave Side will follow under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition in the Mahoney Cemetery with Kyle Burke, Mike Mitchell, Mark Mitchell, Don Voss, Micky Ferguson, Paul Ferguson, James Wildes III, and Ricky Orr serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 1:30 pm till service time, Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Spence Chapel. George Henry "Bud" Mitchell passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Cottages of Carriage House Manor. He was born January 23, 1923 in Perryville, AR the son of William and Agnes Thedford Mitchell. He married Eunice Lorraine Hoover on May 1, 1947 in Dallas, TX. She preceded him in death in 2011. Bud retired from the City of Dallas Water Department. He served in the United States Navy during the World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs and the Hopkins County Military Coalition. Survivors include: Daughters, Pam Silva of Ft. Worth, and Debbie Burke & husband, Robert of Sulphur Springs; brother, Myron Mitchell of Palestine; grandchildren, Annie Noel Wildes &husband, Col James Wildes II and Kyle Burke; and great grandson, James Wildes III. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Mitchell and sister, Louise Voss. Memorials may be made to the Mahoney Cemetery Assoc or First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs
