Funeral service for Joyce Marie Tatum Wilbanks, age 84, of Clarkesville will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from the Clarkesville First United Methodist Church with interment to follow the service in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Wilbanks died Monday, December 2, 2013 following a period of declining health.

Born on May 29, 1929, Mrs. Wilbanks was the daughter of the late Frank M. and Ruth Church Tatum. Mrs. Wilbanks studied at Piedmont College and she was a member of Clarkesville First United Methodist Church. She served on the Clarkesville City Council for 25 years. Mrs. Wilbanks was a homemaker and she enjoyed cooking and collecting dolls. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilbanks is preceded in death by her husband Dr. James Bartley Wilbanks.

Survivors include daughter and son in law Harriet W. and Art Cole of Lawrenceville, son Keith Bartley Wilbanks of Gainesville, grandson Graham Cole of Shanghai, China, and brothers James Tatum and Clifton Tatum.
