CONCORD - Coleson Lamont "Monty" Cline, 66, passed away Saturday Dec. 28, 2013, at Kindred Hospital, Greensboro, with his family at his side.

The family received friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Sharon Baptist Church, with services following at 12 p.m., at the church. Dr. James Strickland and the Rev. James Smith officiated. Burial was held at Carolina Memorial Park.

Mr. Cline was born Oct. 8, 1947, in Cabarrus County, son of the late Guy Eugene Cline and Kathleen Verble Cline.

He was a 1966 graduate of Concord High School and he retired from Stonewall Jackson Training School. He served on the Concord Police Reserves for approximately 10 years. He was the first recipient of the Reserve Officer of the Year award in 1977.

Monty was a member of the Winecoff Volunteer Fire Department, received the Fireman of the Year award in 1994 and was Firefighter of the Year in 1999. He was a longtime member of Sharon Baptist Church, serving as a deacon.

Monty loved to hunt and fish with his son and grandson. He was faithful to his family and church family. Our loss is certainly Heaven's gain.

Survivors include his loving and dedicated wife of 47 years, Sandy Miller Cline; son, Frank Cline and wife, Cindy Baker Cline, of Kannapolis; grandson, Colton; and granddaughter, Addyson. He is also survived by a brother, Darrell Cline.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, for their love and care to Monty and his family, during his stay there.
