Mrs. Swart was born July 28, 1925, in Dickens, to William and Lois (Carter) Batcher. She gradusted from the University of Wyoming. She married Rudy Gerdeman Jan. 8, 1949, in Pierre, S.D. He died in 1975. She married Al Swart April 28, 1984, in Spencer.
Other survivors include her husband; one son, Bill Gerdeman of Dickens; two stepchildren; four grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; one stepbrother; and four stepsisters.
