PEARSALL, Albert J. was born July 9, 1806 in Chenango County, New York the son of Mott Pearsall and Elizabeth Simmons. He married Lydia M. Atwater and they were the parents of seven children, Angeline, Hannibal, Eugene, Cornelia, Raleigh Atwater "Rolla", Martin Van Buren and Albert L. He came to Chicago in 1839 and opened the Barry Point Half-Way House, near Chicago and in 1842 moved the building to what is now called Central Park. His hotel was known as the Four-and-a-half-mile House, which he disposed of in 1846, and went farther West. He was a veteran of the Mexican War. He affiliated with Euclid Lodge June 5, 1849 from Lafayette Lodge No. 18, Chicago, Illinois. He died about 1858 in Jefferson County, Kansas and was buried in the Ozawkie Cemetery, Ozawkie, Jefferson County, Kansas.
