MR. Edwin Ellis, Sr., a native and lifelong resident of Magazine, AL; passed suddenly on Sunday morning, March 6, 1960.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Rebecca Ellis; eight sons, Messrs. Everette Ellis of Magazine, AL; Ceasar Ellis of Boston, MA; Edwin Ellis, Jr., of Chicago, IL; Francis Ellis of Boston, MA; Johnnie, Harold, and Fredrick of Magazine, AL; and Pfc. Alfred Ellis of Limestone. ME; five daughters, Mrs. Edna Hall, Mrs. Rebecca E. Anderson, Miss Gladys Ellis, Miss Joyce Ellis, Mrs. Yvonne Thompson of Detroit, MI; two brothers, Messrs. Asa, and Rudolph Ellis; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Turner, Mrs. Ora Floyd, Mrs. Estell Wilson, and Mrs. Dorothy Arthur; three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; a mother-in-law; three sisters-in-law; five daughters-in-law; 24 grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews; a host of other relatives, and friends.
His remains will lie in state from his late residence, 437 Ray Bridge Rd,
on Friday, March 11, 196O, from 6 p.m. until the Funeral hour.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 12, 1960,
beginning from the residence at 1:30 p.m.
and continuing from the First Hopewell Baptist Church, Plateau, AL; at 2 p.m.
Rev. H. P. Williams, officiating.
Interment in Plateau Cemetery.
