Heart Attack Fatal to Joseph H. Arnold
Joseph H. Arnold, 65, of 214 West Jefferson street, retired feed mill operator, died suddenly last night at St. Paul Catholic Church. He was stricken with a heart attack while attending church at 7:30. He had been in ill health 14 months because of heart trouble.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Church, the Rev. Michael Haddigan officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul cemetery.

He had operated a feed mill in Macomb for a number of years, at first producing, corn meal and other products for the home, and later devoting the entire business to livestock feeds. He retired during the war years. Before moving to Macomb in 1923 he was a farmer and resided at Bardolph and then on a farm outside Macomb on route one.

He was born Aug. 1, 1885 at Bardolph, a son of Charles and Elizabeth Marx Arnold, and was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. On Oct. 6, 1915, he married Ruth Pearce, who survives with nine sons and daughters: Mrs. Pauline Grainger, Earl, Maurice, Francis and Charles Arnold and Mrs. Rita Richbark, all of Macomb; Mrs. Mary K. Bartosch of Madison, Wis., Mrs. Norma J. Lee of Paxton and Miss Patricia Arnold of Clinton, Ia. A son, Paul died in infancy. A brother Ernest Arnold of Macomb, five sisters, Misses Alma and Louise Arnold of Macomb, Mrs. Luella Kossmann of Washington, Mrs. Netta Gaul and Mrs. Stella Hall of Peoria and 19 grandchildren also survive.

The rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Sunday at the home. Friends may call at the residence after 5:00 this evening.
