ROCK HILL -- Mr. James Calvin Barnes, 60, of 778 Peachtree Road died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Piedmont Medical Center. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Forest Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. David Inman officiating. A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Barnes was a son of the late Howard Lee Barnes and Mary Ruth Thomas. He was owner and operator of Eagles Cafe and was retired from the U.S. Navy as petty officer 1st class. Surviving are his wife, Mary Foster Barnes; four sons, James C. Barnes Jr. and Danny Barnes, both of Ohio, Darrell Barnes of North Carolina and Jeffrey Hileman of Texas; his daughter, Lisa Hileman of Rock Hill; three brothers, Edward C. Barnes, Claude E. Barnes and Dean Brock, all of Rock Hill; three sisters, Paula Brock, Mickey Barnes and Elaine Barnes, all of Rock Hill; and nine grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel and other times at the home of Dan Parker, 748 Peachtree Road. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of York County, 2036 Carolina Place, Fort Mill, SC 29715.
