Charles H. Vaughn, 78, of Cedar City, died October 3, 1936, at the home of his son.

Dr. H.I. Taylor, of Jefferson City, pronounced death caused by Arteriosclerosis. The informant was his son, Luther Vaughan of Cedar City.

Charles was born January 29, 1858, in Callaway County, the son of William and Elizabeth (Brandon) Vaughan. He married Mamie Harris on October 25, 1888; she preceded him in death in 1894. Charles was a farmer.

Arrangements were under the care of Ray A. Holt of New Bloomfield and burial was in Hart Hill Cemetery.

After his wife's death, Charlie raised his son Luther with help from his late wife's twin sister. Luther married Hilda Sundermeyer in 1914; Charlie lived with them until his death. Luther and Hilda bought one of the Sundermeyer farms from her father's estate in 1916; it remained in the family until 2011.
