Funeral services were held at V.B. Johnson Mortuary on Sunday, October 10 for Worthy D. Bacon. Mr. Bacon long suffered of poor health, passed away at the Imperial Hospital on October 7, at the age of 66 years, 10 months and 26 days. The Rev. Warren Spellman was in charge of the services. Mrs. Raymond Maxfield and Mrs. Louis Frim sang accompanied by Mrs. E.R. Voorhees at the organ.

OBITUARY:

Worthy Daniel Bacon was born Nov. 11, 1887 at Dawson, NE. to Horacio Augustus and Hannah Bacon, and passed away Oct. 7, 1954 at the Imperial Hospital.

On Jan. 15, 1910 he was married to Nellie Rouch at Hutton Valley, MO. To this union was born five children; twin sons, Roy and Ray, both of Malin, Oregon; Fern Stevenson, Palisade, NE., Ethel Mueller, Wauneta; and Charles Bacon of Burton, KS. Arthur, another son, proceeded him in death at birth.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie, his five children, 19 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and five step grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren. One sister, Della Colson of Dawson, NE. and a brother Ernest of Albuquerque, N. Mexico.

"Dad" Bacon, as he was affectionately known by his friends, lived in Richardson County until the last 12 years, when he moved to Wauneta. For the last few months he had lived in Palisade.

Burial was the the Palisade Cemetery, with the V.B. Johnson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

His twin sons went by John and Joll.
