Mrs. Millie Jane Pettyjohn Calhoun, 82, wife of J.T. Calhoun, of Nancy, died last Thursday at her home following an illness of several weeks.

The daughter of the late Henry and Jane Meece Pettyjohn, Mrs. Calhoun was born Nov. 28, 1872. She married J.T. Calhoun and six children were born to this marriage.

Mrs. Calhoun professed her faith in Christ when she was 20 years old and united with the New Hope Baptist Church. She remained a devout and faithful member of that church for the last 62 years.

Mrs. Calhoun is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Lucy Loy, Hammond, Ind., Mrs. Ollie West , Shelbyville, Ind., and Mrs. Susie Hall, Pine Village, Ind.; three sons, Jimmie Calhoun and Taft Calhoun, both of Nancy, and Willie Calhoun, Somerset.

She is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Clansey Beasley, Cincinnati.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Chesterview Baptist Church, the Rev. Warren Carroll officiating. Burial was in the Chesterview cemetery.
