SPANISH FORK - Henry (Harry) Hughes, 80, a lifelong resident of Spanish Fork and a native Utah Pioneer, died Sunday evening in a Provo hospital of causes incident to age.

He was born at Spanish Fork Jan 24, 1867, the son of Morgan and Hannah David Hughes, pioneers of Spanish Fork. He was educated in the early schools and was a pupil of the late Dr. George H. Brimhall and James Higginson, noted educators. He had followed the trade of painter and decorator since 1877.

He married Mary Elizabeth Meyler. To them was born one son, H. Eugene Hughes. His wife died when her son was five years old. He later married LaRene King and to them were born Mary King Hughes and Rafel (Ray) Hughes, both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Reta Wilde, Ogden, Mrs. Berta Kaye Conrad, McGill, Nev.; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Spanish Fork Second L D S ward by Ray Gull, bishop.
