Mount Pleasant, SC -- Rachel Kitchell, 81, died Nov. 2 at home in Clare Bridge. She was a native of Columbus, GA, and the widow of Thorne Cecil Kitchell. She spent her early years in Savannah and was a longtime resident of Spartanburg, where she was a member of Central Methodist Church.

Survivors: a son, Thorne Cecil Kitchell Jr. of Mount Pleasant; a daughter, Marie Kitchell Law of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Kim Dobson of Atlanta, Diane Bridges of Spartanburg and Anne and Michael Kitchell of Mount Pleasant.

Graveside Service: 3:30 p.m., Friday in Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah.
