Pryor was a farmer and had a 225 acre farm of well improved land in Burton Township, Howard County, Missouri. He was of the Baptist faith.
In May of 1862 he signed an "Oath" to the United States that he would not serve against it during the War Between the States. His brother was a Colonel on the staff of Brig. General John Bullock Clark, Sr. at the time, with the Missouri State Guard. More later as time permits !
