Betty Jo Bedsole Stanley, a resident of Madrid died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Signature Healthcare of North Florida in Graceville, Florida. She was 77.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stanley will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 28, 2013 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Doctor Jeff Peacock officiating. Burial will follow in Madrid City cemetery with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM prior to the service.
Mrs. Stanley was born June 26, 1936 in Tumbleton, Alabama to Hugh Dent and Ruth Holland Bedsole and moved to Madrid at an early age. She was an insurance agent for many years, also served as the Town Clerk of Madrid for several years v and loved the outdoors and fishing. Mrs. Stanley was a member of Madrid Baptist Church.
Mrs. Stanley is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hubert Stanley and a sister, Mamie Ruth Wynn.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie and Bobby Teichert, Sumter, SC; three sons, Anthony and Kim Stanley, Ronnie Stanley, both of Madrid, Rev. Hilburn and Wendy Stanley, Hartford; grandchildren, Paul Stanley, Stephen Stanley, Angel Cross, Jeremy Stanley, Curtis Alfrey, Phillip Stanley, Tristina Martin, Deserae Stanley, Derek Stanley, Paige Stanley and Josh Stanley; twelve great grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Crowley, Jackie Johnson, Sarah Jones; brothers, Hugh Bedsole, Henry Bedsole, Robert Bedsole and Harold Bedsole; special friend, Denise Stanley.
