28 May 1924: Joseph B. Kohr passed away at 1:20 o'clock this morning at his home at 914 Church Street. Had he lived until October 20, he would have attained the age of 78 years. Twelve years ago, while visiting a farmer in the country, he fell down a hay mow and sustained severe injuries from which he never completely recovered. About six years ago, he fell on a sidewalk and sustained severe injuries to his head and since then has been in failing mental conditions, and general health. His wife, the former Amanda Phillips, died five years ago. He started a grocery and general merchandise business in Jonestown when he was quite young, and had that business for about 20 years. He was also connected with a large wholesale grocery house in Philadelphia, and was associated with that firm for about 39 years. He is survived by children, Thomas J.; John P.; Laura; and Mary.
