LENA FAYE CHARBONEAU
Lena Faye Charboneau, 85, of Tulsa and formerly of Roxton, Texas passed away in Sand Springs on Thursday, December 26, 2013. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
One of three children of Jess Herbert Corley and Mollie May (Lamb) Corley, Lena was born in Sallisaw, Oklahoma on August 13, 1928. She graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1946. During her high school years she worked on the Tom Tom Yearbook Committee and was a member of the School Life Newspaper Staff. Following high school she embarked on an unusual job for a woman in those days-she drove a taxicab. That job brought her into contact with her first husband, Arthur Charles Woirtinek, who also drove a cab after being discharged from the military at Ft. Chaffee, Arkansas following WWII. Through the years she had also worked for several hotel chains, including Holiday Inn, Sheraton, and more recently the Victorian Inn, serving in several capacities including Executive Housekeeper, Desk Clerk, and Night Auditor. An avid reader who made frequent trips to the library to check out new books, Lena eagerly took up reading on a Kindle and enjoyed the new social media trends where she quickly became an eager Facebook participant.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Ann Pinalto of Roxton, Texas, Lena Ward and husband David of Tulsa, and two son'sn, Gerald Wayne Charboneau of Iola, Kansas and Richard Stockton of New York, four grandchildren, Charles Michael Curtis and wife, Jacqueline, Crystal Ellen Curtis, Alex Christopher Curtis, and Timothy Wayne Charboneau and wife Valarie, and one great-grandchild, Kanin Tyler Curtis. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Ellen Figart of Silver City, New Mexico, and a brother, Jess Lloyd Corley of Tulsa. Lena was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Marsha Ellen Blair, her first husband Arthur Charles Woirtinek, and her second husband, Leslie Charboneau.
