Austin Daniel Fitch, 89 years, 9 months and
12 days died at his home, early Monday,
September 7, 1959.

Mr. Fitch was born in Trinity Center, Califor-
nia November 19, 1869. When a very small
child he came with his father, sisters and
brothers to a farm west of Frankfort, Kansas.

He was a active member of the Methodist
Church.

He was untied in marriage to Ada Curtis on
December 19, 1894. To this union were born
six children. He was preceded in death by
one son, Reamy.

Mr. Fitch was a farmer and he and Mrs. Fitch
owned and lived on their farm northeast of
Frankfort, Kansas for many years.

He was always interested in improvement in
farming and he served as president of the
Local Farmers Union Association and the
Farmers Co-operative Association in Marshall
County. He also served on the township
board and always lent his active support to
improvement and betterment of his comm-
unity.

In the spring of 1946, he and Mrs. Fitch
retired to their home in Frankfort, which
they have very much enjoyed. In December
of this year, they had planned to celebrate
their 65th anniversary with their family.

Mr. Fitch’s health began to fail in October
1958 and he spent six weeks during last
winter in St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
He returned to his home and enjoyed good
health until about one week ago.

He is survived by his wife, Ada of the home;
three daughters, Mrs. Cornelia Turner,
Topeka, Kansas, Mrs. Marguerite Feldhousen
Plattsmouth, Nebraska, and Mrs. Marie
Culver, Madison, Kansas; two sons, Albert
Fitch, Wichita, Kansas and Fred Fitch,
Phoenix, Arizona; a sister, Mrs. Lottie
Blossom, Stillwater, Oklahoma; a brother-
in-law Sam Myers, Home City, Kansas; 14
grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren
several nieces and nephews.

Services were held on September 9, 1959 in
the Methodist Church with Reverend W.E.
VanPatten.

Interment was in the Frankfort Cemetery,
Frankfort, Kansas.

Pallbearers were Wyatt Hazen, Milo Summers
Fred Millenbruch, Gilbert Gibson, Gerald
Feldhausen and Clyde Morton.
