***********

Mr. Thos. Wells, for well on to forty years a respected and successful farmer of the Antler Hill district, southeast of Penhold, died on Sunday midnight at the age of 63 years. Mr. Wells has been seriously ill for some four months, and came in to the Red Deer Hospital, but he went home three weeks ago with no chance of recovery, as the cancer had reached a stage which could not be cured. Mrs. Wells, who was the youngest daughter of the late David Parker, Horn Hill, died three years ago.

Mr. Wells was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and came out with the family to Ontario, when he was five years old. He came out to the Horn Hill district about 1892, taking up land next to the church, later moving to his present farm where he and the family have built up a nice place. The family are Mrs. Chris Quinton; Messrs. Leslie, Walter, William and Barton Wells, and Misses Amy, Margaret and Jean.

He left also two brothers, Robert and Walter, and two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Inglis and Mrs. Geo. Parker, all of the Penhold district.

The funeral takes place this afternoon from the Horn Hill church.
