Merlin Bromley Behunin, greatly loved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, October 29, 2002. He was born February 22, 1912 in Castle Dale, Utah to William Carlos and Mary Jane Bromley Behunin. Merlin married Jessie Jensen May 22, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a quiet, humble man who was an extremely talented perfectionist. He made many beautiful things out of wood and graciously gave much of his work to others. He loved the great outdoors and enjoyed fishing. After retiring at 71, he started playing golf and was a natural.

At 17 years of age he started working at Morrison-Merrill Lumber, then Boise Cascade. He later founded his own business, Trus Joist Utah Sales. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII. Merlin served for many years as a scout master and coached baseball to the young boys in his community. He gave service to his church and practiced the teaching of quietly giving of means in secret.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Morris Wayne, who died while serving as an LDS missionary in Argentina; an infant son, Brook; a sister, LaRue Johnson; four brothers, Irwin, Vard, Don and Clyde.
