Sam F. Yoakum died at his home on College Hill, December 6th at 2:00 AM after two weeks of illness. Mr. Yoakum lived in Rockdale a number of years engaging in the mining business. He then moved to Waco where he lived and made many friends, among these were Pat Neff. Mr. Yoakum then moved back to Rockdale to spend the remainder of his days. He was known to be a man of intelligence and a kind loving husband and father. Mr. Yoakum is survived by a widow and 13 children all being present at his bedside but two; Mr. Bob Yoakum and Mrs. George Cox who were detained on account of illness.
