Alice Mae Banks Stinnette, 62, of Lynch Station, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998 in the Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was born Aug. 1, 1936 in Altavista, a daughter of Lillian Luper Arthur of Altavista and the late Banner Banks. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Alfred Lee Stinnette Sr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly S. and Dennis Oliver, Lynchburg; a son and daughter-in-law, A. Lee Jr. and Sonya Stinnette, Lynch Station; a grandson, Jason L. Jennings; a granddaughter, Meredith Brooke Stinnette both of Lynch Station; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert R. and Nadine Banks, Spartanburg, S.C.

A graveside service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 1998 from the Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery by Lory Brafford. Friends may call after 11 a.m. today and the family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Huddleston and other times at the residence of the son, 340 Windsong Drive, Lynch Station, Va. 24571. The family requests that those wishing to make memorials consider the Altavista Lifesaving Crew, P.O. Box 11, Altavista, Va. 24517. Updike Funeral Home, Huddleston.
