Nelson Grant Price, 85, a retired farmer, died at 9:15 a.m. yesterday at a local nursing home after a long illness.


Born in Owsley County, he was a son of the late Henry and Lavena Price. He was a member and deacon of the Christian Church at Heidelberg.


He had lived most of his life in Lee and Owsley counties and since 1946 had made his home here with a daughter, Mrs. Robert Coomer.


In addition to Mrs. Coomer, he is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. Volley Price and Mrs. Clarence Berry, both of Cincinnati, and Mrs. Ruby Clements, Atlanta, Ga.; four brothers, Will Price, Beattyville; Bob and Brack Price, Heidelberg, and Harve Price, Cincinnati; a sister, Mrs. Jane Gallagher, Cincinnati; 28 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.


The body was removed to Kerr Bros. Funeral Home and was later taken to the Cox Funeral Home in Irvine where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday by the Rev. William Warner. Burial will be in Cecil Cemetery in Owsley County.
