Mrs. Betty Hanks Springer of Eaton, Indiana passed away on September 1, 2006 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Betty was born on March 21, 1925 in Muncie, Indiana and was the daughter of the late Ezra S. and Edna Jones Hanks. On December 13, 1941, Betty married Ralph Springer.
Betty was a homemaker most of her life and during World War II she worked Durhams in Muncie and also worked for the Ball Corporation.
Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Betty was a member of Eastern Star.
Betty is survived by her husband, Ralph; one daughter, Mrs. Dawn Springer Miller from Kentucky; one sister, Mrs. Rosemary Hanks Stanton from Dunkirk; one half-sister, Mrs. Cleo Hanks LeMaster from Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by one brother, William Scott Hanks who died in 1990; three half-sisters, Mrs. Juanita Fay Pitman Shady who died in 1990, Mrs. Dorothea Pitman Jones who died in 1981 and Mrs. Madonna Hanks Gilliland who died in 2006.
Services will be held at Garden View Funeral Home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Coleman Barlow officiating followed by internment in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie.
