Albert Jennings Hines, age 66, former auditor of Hamilton county, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, at his home in Fall Creek township after having been in poor health for two or three years. He had been failing rapidly since early in the summer. For the past week members of the family and friends knew that the end was near.
Services will be held at the home of the deceased at 10 a.m. Saturday, with Rev. E. E. McMurtry, of Boxleytown in charge, assisted by Rev. A. L. Ward of Noblesville. Burial will take place in Crownland cemetery.

A. J. Hines, of this city, commonly known among his friends as "Bert" has been a teacher in the schools of the county for the past thirty-three years. He has been principal of the Federal Hill school for the past eleven years and taught school in three other townships of the county.
In addition to his work as a teacher, he has been employed
in different ways during vacations. He followed farming as a young man, later living on a farm in Wayne township for twelve years and has done many other kinds of manual labor. He has been employed as a deputy in two county offices and served as a member of the County Board of Review in 1926, where his work in behalf of the taxpayers is well known.
Mr. Hines was born in Adams township and lived there more than thirty years of his life, his home being at Boxley.
His marriage to Miss Ethel Lennen occurred in 1902. They are the parents of three children, Lawrence, a son, who is married and resides in Evansville. Bernice, a teacher in the city schools and active in young people's religious work of the county and Gertrude, who is a Junior at Butler college. Elizabeth and William Fisher, children of Mrs. Hines' deceased sister, have lived in this home since the death of their mother almost fourteen years ago. Miss Elizabeth, the older, is a member of this year's graduating class of the local high school.
Mr. Hines is known among his friends as a man of lofty purpose and absolute sincerity. His word is as good as his bond, and one of the mottoes of his life has been to do even more than was expected of him whatever the task.
He and his family are members of the Christian church in this city. Fraternally he is an Odd Fellow, a Mason and a Modern Woodman.
Mr. Hines is a candidate for County Auditor on the Republican ticket.
